GT West Lawn Student Ministries Pastor
The GT West Lawn Student Ministries Pastor will be a visionary leader and dynamic communicator who will plan and execute weekly student worship experiences and events that elevate the value of community through small groups for students in grades seven through twelve. The ideal candidate is able to connect with both adult leaders and students. He/She is passionate about influencing students in taking next steps in their spiritual growth, such as beginning a relationship with Jesus, serving, inviting, giving, engaging in God’s Word, and becoming leaders in their church and community.
- Provide pastoral care for youth and/or parents of youth in the form of hospital visitation, prayer, counseling, funerals, and weddings.
- Collaborate with the student ministries pastor to plan weekend services, develop sermon series, and plan events, retreats, and trips.
- Plan and oversee GT Student Ministries large group experiences
- Prepare messages that are relevant, challenging and inspiring, leading students to take their next step in their faith journey
- Develop and execute weekly service experiences that are relevant and innovative in their creative elements
- Collaborate with central worship and media to ensure excellence and consistency in the Sunday experience and at special events
- Execute social media strategy for GT Students
- Develop and lead the service programming volunteer team, social media volunteers, and host team volunteers
- Provide leadership, vision, and execution for GT Young Adults (ages 18–25)
- Plan, lead, and execute weekly Young Adult gatherings on Sunday evenings, creating environments where young adults can encounter Jesus, build community, and take next steps in their faith.
- Develop and implement a strategic pathway for spiritual growth and engagement, helping young adults move toward serving, leading, giving, and full participation in the life of the church.
- Build, recruit, and lead a Young Adult Leadership Team that assists in the execution and growth of the ministry.
- Plan, coordinate volunteers, and execute 8–10 strategic events annually that foster community, outreach, and spiritual formation.
Qualifications
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- Dynamic and proven team-builder who is passionate about recruiting volunteers and developing students and adult leaders
- Strong organizational and administrative skills
- Experience in event planning or creative communications
- Hospitable, friendly spirit
- Solid work ethic and ability to self-motivate, effectively prioritize, and multi-task
- Team-player with the ability to create systems/standard operating procedures
- Licensed or credentialed minister (or seeking licensing)
- Proficiency in various social media platforms and MS Office Suite
