Responsibilities

• Recruit volunteers by casting vision, sharing wins and stirring excitement that shows them how much of a difference they can make in the life of a child.
• Communicate with volunteers weekly to equip them to show up to your ministry prepared.
• Serve as the point of contact for families of children with special needs.
• Partner with families impacted by special needs by providing a safe environment for kids in kindergarten to 3rd grade and creating individualized support strategies.
• Train and equip volunteers (“buddies” and small group leaders) to support children with varying abilities.
• Provide on-site support and guidance during weekend services and ministry events.
• Provide inclusive tactics and teaching techniques to all Inclusion volunteers and small group leaders.
• Assess classroom and program environments for accessibility and make appropriate modifications.

Qualifications

• Relevant experience, education or training in special education or inclusion ministry
• Experience in building, developing and leading successful volunteer teams
• Dynamic and proven team-player and team-builder who is passionate about partnering with families to connect them to the life of the church
• Displays a positive, fun, and energetic attitude that supports the vision and values of kids ministry at GT church
• Strong organizational management skills and the ability to lead with excellence
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Availability for Sunday mornings weekly and for evening and special event hours based on ministry schedule
