Welcome Back FAQ

What environments are open for kids?

GT Kids is currently open for children age 2 through 5th grade during our 9 AM services at West Lawn. Beginning June 13th, we will also be opening our Nusery environment. At this time Inclusion Ministry is unavailable. All of our GT Kids environments are operating with limited capacity based on volunteer numbers.

Are masks required?

All volunteers, staff, and kids will be required to wear a mask while in the building, at all times. If you are unable or unwilling to wear a mask, we would love for you to engage with us online.

How will you enforce social distancing?

While we know that social distancing can be challenging for kids, we will model behaviors and set up programming to encourage social distancing. We will be limiting capacity in our environments to stay as socially distant as possible. Air high-fives will become the norm for us in GT Kids.

Will you do temperature screenings?

We will perform temperature checks on all staff, volunteers, and kids who are checking into GT Kids using touchless thermometers. If someone has a temperature at or above 100.4, we will retest them after they rest for a few minutes. If anyone has a fever even after a recheck is done, for everyone’s safety in accordance with CDC guidelines, they will be unable to attend that week’s GT Kids service in person, even if they are not exhibiting other symptoms and they will be encouraged to join us online on YouTube.

What should I do prior to coming?

Please review the At-Home Daily Screening document prior to coming to any service or gathering at GT Church. Families will be individually asked each question as their child has their temperature checked.

How will check-in work?

Families may only enter through the main Worship Center entrance. Kids will be temperature checked upon entering and families asked a series of screening questions; then get signed in and receive a name tag from one of our leaders. Every child must be signed in and wear his/her name tag at all times.
Once service is over, kids will be dismissed from their environments.

What time will check-in open?

Check-in will open 15 minutes prior to the start of service.

Will food and drinks be available?

We will not have any food or drinks in the gathering. Water fountains will be shut down.

What safety precautions and procedures can I expect for my children?

In GT Kids, our goal is to provide a safe environment for your children while you attend the worship experience. We are taking several precautions to keep your kids and our leaders healthy and safe:

  • Masks and temperature checks are required for all kids, leaders, and staff in GT Kids.
  • Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 degrees or higher will be asked to join us online at home.
  • We encourage you to send only one parent into the GT Kids area for drop-off and pick-up to help limit hallway traffic.
  • Room capacity limits will be set to provide adequate spacing.
  • All items from home (like coats, toys, and bags) will need to stay with parents or in your vehicle.
  • You’ll see lots of big waves, but let’s avoid hugs, high-fives, and handshakes.
  • We’ve increased hygiene and cleaning protocols in our GT Kids spaces.
  • Additional hand-sanitizing stations will be available in the GT Kids Ministry environments.
